Yael Zigelman
Past President
Yael is a Senior Principal Scientist at Orna Therapeutics (a subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company), where she leads the Plasmid Production team responsible for generating DNA templates for circular RNA (oRNA) production.
She is a passionate molecular biologist with 6 years of industry experience, a BSc in Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University, an MSc in Molecular Genetics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
A firm believer in the power of community to advance women in STEM, Yael joined MASS-AWIS in 2021, is a graduate of the MASS-AWIS Leadership Program, and has served on the Mentoring Committee and as Chapter President (2023–2026).
In her free time, she enjoys solving logic puzzles, crocheting, practicing yoga and pilates, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
