
Kate Lu
Events Committee Co-Chair
Kate is a Principal Research Associate at Treefrog Therapeutics, where she works on the R&D team to advance cell therapy research by utilizing Treefrog’s proprietary C-stem technology. Her work centers on developing scalable iPSC-based approaches to support the manufacture of cell therapies.
Kate earned her B.A. in Biological Sciences from University of New Hampshire, where she conducted pancreatic cancer research in the Johnson Lab, investigating the effects of gene knockdown on cancer-associated targets. She recently completed her M.S. in Biological Sciences at University of Massachusetts while working full-time in the biotechnology industry.
Kate began volunteering with the AWIS Events Committee in 2025 and is passionate about building community and creating opportunities for women in STEM to connect and grow professionally.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, practicing Pilates, and exploring new restaurants.
