Karen Yee
Treasurer
Dr. Karen Yee is a Research and Program Manager in the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she oversees the operations and administration of an academic research laboratory.
She earned a B.A. degree with Honors in biological science from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. degree in molecular and cellular biology from University of Washington.
Karen has been a member of AWIS since 1995, first in the Seattle Chapter and then in the Boston chapter, where she held various leadership positions. From 2019-2026, she was a member of the AWIS Chapters Advisory Committee and worked with other AWIS leaders to support AWIS’s chapters.
Karen is excited to join the MASS AWIS board as Treasurer and support the chapter’s programming and mission.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking in the kitchen, practicing pilates and visiting other countries.
