MASS AWIS Joins the Cambridge Science Carnival

MASS AWIS had a wonderful time participating in the Cambridge Science Carnival at the MIT Museum on October 4, 2026. Our interactive demo where visitors created tissue‑like beads using sodium alginate was a huge hit, drawing more than 200 curious and enthusiastic participants throughout the afternoon.

Families, students, and science lovers of all ages stopped by to explore the activity, ask questions, and experience the joy of discovery.

It was inspiring to see such excitement for STEM within the Cambridge community, and we were thrilled to share a fun, accessible experiment that sparked conversations about biomaterials and scientific creativity.
