About the event
Join Me for Coffee is a long-running series at MASS AWIS that provides a great opportunity for women in science who are seeking career development or simply inspiration. Participants will not only learn about that person’s career but also establish a new professional connection. These events are a great opportunity for participants to practice networking in an intimate setting, a skill that helps open doors to meaningful careers in STEM.
The upcoming ‘Join Me for Coffee’ event will feature Hiba Siddiqui (bio below), CEO of the South Asian Heart Health Initiative (SAAHI). This event will be an opportunity to hear Hiba share her journey with SAHHI and her perspective on the broader intersections of advocacy, science, and entrepreneurship. This session will cover:
The mission of SAHHI and its AIM to Prevent program, which addresses the twin epidemics of heart disease and diabetes in people who trace their ancestry to the Indian subcontinent.
The intersections of advocacy, science, and entrepreneurship in building meaningful change.
Lessons from Hiba’s journey as a researcher, nonprofit leader, and prospective MD-PhD candidate.
