Join the Mass AWIS team for the Mass General Brigham Eversource Cancer 5K Run-Walk - a fun, high-energy fundraiser that brings together runners, walkers, families, friends, and supporters for an inspiring morning by the Charles River Esplanade in Boston.

This is a great chance to support an important cancer care and research mission while spending time with the AWIS community in a relaxed, social setting. The event is organized by Mass General Brigham and includes a 5K run, 5K walk, and a 100-yard Kids’ Dash, with breakfast after the race and a chance to celebrate the impact of everyone’s support. To help make your race day experience seamless, pre-event bib pickup is back again this year!

Mark your calendar, and note the following:

1. Pre-event bib pickup will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm in the Bulfinch Tent at Massachusetts General Hospital.

2. The Bulfinch Tent is located outside of 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114. Once you enter the main entrance, go past the information desk, and take a right to head outdoors to the big tent. If you have reached Coffee Central, you have gone too far.

3. Race day bib pickup at the Charles River Esplanade begins at 7:00 am. We encourage participants to attend bib pickup prior to race day to minimize delays.

4. T-shirts will be distributed according to sizes selected during registration ONLY. (No exchanges on race day.) T-shirts are not guaranteed for same-day registrations.

5. Special incentive: If you attend the in-person bib pickup on September 17, you are eligible to receive one parking pass for the Boston Common Garage to use on race day. Parking passes can only be given to participants who attend in person. Passes are limited; don’t miss out! Parking passes will not be available on race day at the Charles River Esplanade.

Eliza Shirazi, founder of Kick It By Eliza, joined NBC10 Boston’s Hub Today to share fun fitness tips and exercises for the fall! On August 26 from 6:30-7:30 pm, Eliza will host a pop-up workout class at the lululemon located on Newbury Street in Boston to support the Mass General Brigham Eversource Cancer 5k Run-Walk. On race day, Eliza will also lead our group warm-up! Watch the segment.
